Ukraine
became an independent nation following the collapse of
the Soviet Union in 1991. Unfortunately, the
transition to a free market economy left staggering
inflation and unemployment. Communism's empty promises
produced a free nation hungry for both physical and
spiritual food.
In
1995, Peter Mucher founded Beacon World Missions whose
purpose is to help provide the people of Ukraine with
spiritual and humanitarian assistance. Beacon World
Missions provides food, clothing, medicine, and
improved shelter to several orphanages, hospitals, as
well as a technical training institute for the
physically challenged.
